1. Hike Through Quebec’s Colourful Mountains
Fall is, without a doubt, THE most beautiful season for hiking in Quebec. As soon as the mountains dress themselves in red, orange, and yellow, it’s time to lace up your boots and hit the trails! Between iconic mountains, regional parks, and lesser-known gems, spectacular hikes are never in short supply in Quebec, no matter what kind of hiker you are. From Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier (our favourite) to Mont-Orford, or Parc national du Mont-Tremblant to Forillon, you’ll easily find a trail that matches your pace and your mood.
Whether you love long treks or prefer an easy walk with a great view at the end, fall is the ideal season to explore Quebec’s forests with your SO. Take advantage of the cooler temperatures, the colourful landscapes, and those moments when it almost feels like you have the whole forest to yourselves.

2. Spend the Day at One of Quebec’s Most Beautiful Spas
When the temperatures start to drop and nature puts on its most beautiful colours, it’s the perfect time to treat yourselves to a relaxing day together! Fall is especially well suited to a spa day. The hot baths, saunas, and relaxation areas become even more enjoyable with a light breeze and colourful scenery all around. From Spa Nordic Station in Magog to Sartiga Spa in Chaudière-Appalaches or Bota Bota in Montreal, you can enjoy unique facilities across the province. All that’s left to decide is whether you want a view of the mountains, the river, or the illuminated city.
Among our favourites, we especially recommend Strøm Spa in Old Quebec for its ultra-complete thermal circuit and stunning installations, as well as Spa Manoir Hovey in the Eastern Townships for its luxurious and soothing ambiance on the shores of Lac Massawippi. If a rainy day in the forecast, trade your hiking boots for a museum visit! Fall is a great time to slow down, discover new exhibits, and enjoy a cultural outing together, especially when the weather isn’t cooperating. In Montreal, the Pointe-à-Callière Museum lets you explore the city’s archaeological remains, while the Redpath Museum impresses with its fossil, mineral, and natural specimen collections. The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the McCord Stewart Museum are also perfect for a dose of beauty and history, with thematic exhibitions that make each visit feel new.

If, like us, you love reading and everything that comes with it, you’re probably also the type of person who loves visiting beautiful libraries while travelling! If that’s the case, why not do the same thing right here in our own province? Fall offers the perfect atmosphere for taking your time, getting lost in a book, discovering new spaces, and taking shelter somewhere cozy when the weather turns.
In Montreal, the Sanaaq Centre offers much more than a library, with creative spaces and a café, while the Grande Bibliothèque impresses with its architecture and vast collections. You can also stop by the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec to dive into the province’s history through archival documents in a setting worthy of a fairy tale.
In Quebec City, the Maison de la littérature is particularly charming, housed in a former neo-Gothic church from 1848, it combines a library, creative space, café, and literary programming. The new Bibliothèque Pierre-Georges-Roy in Lévis, also set in a former church, is well worth the detour too. And with its four floors, MediaLab, recording studio, and public art trail, the Bibliothèque Gabrielle-Roy is a cultural destination in its own right.
