During one of our recent stays, we had the chance to spend a night at the Riôtel Matane before hitting the road again, and it was wonderfully relaxing. We loved waking up to an unobstructed view of the river right from our room over breakfast. In addition to its ideal location in the heart of Matane, the hotel also features beautiful indoor and outdoor pools overlooking the water, perfect for an extra dose of relaxation.

We also recommend stopping by Oh les pains, a café and bakery serving what might just be the best croissants and pain au chocolat in the region.

The highlight was definitely the trails at Pointe Verte in Pointe-Saint-Pierre, which wind through a coastal forest and offer a spectacular view of the famous Percé Rock.

During your guided adventure on the water, you’ll learn about the region’s biodiversity, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot a whale or some seals.
