No conversation about where to stay in Gaspésie would be complete without mentioning the stunning hotels of Groupe Riôtel. These properties feature bright, modern rooms, some with balconies or terraces perfect for watching the sunset over the St. Lawrence. On site, you’ll also find quality restaurants showcasing local products, the perfect opportunity to savor lobsters, crabs, shrimps, and other fresh seafood from the region.

During one of our recent stays, we had the chance to spend a night at the Riôtel Matane before hitting the road again, and it was wonderfully relaxing. We loved waking up to an unobstructed view of the river right from our room over breakfast. In addition to its ideal location in the heart of Matane, the hotel also features beautiful indoor and outdoor pools overlooking the water, perfect for an extra dose of relaxation.

Hôtel Baker: A Convenient Base in the Heart of Gaspé

If you’re looking for hotels in Gaspé, Quebec, Hôtel Baker is a reliable choice. With its renovated rooms and friendly atmosphere, it appeals equally to couples and families. On site, you’ll also find the Gaspesian tavern Têtu and even a movie theatre, handy if the rain decides to join your trip.

Just steps from the main street, you’ll have easy access to several great restaurants, including Bistro-Bar Le Brise Bise, a local institution since 1986 known for its excellent seafood. We also recommend stopping by Oh les pains, a café and bakery serving what might just be the best croissants and pain au chocolat in the region.

Hôtel Baker also makes a great base for visiting the area’s major attractions, including Forillon National Park, Cap Bon-Ami, Haldimand Beach, and Musée de la Gaspésie. For a practical, hassle-free stay in Gaspé, it checks all the boxes!

For outdoor enthusiasts, Le Nordet is an excellent base for exploring the nearby hiking trails. During our visit, we had the chance to meet Jeffrey, one of the owners, and hike out to the bog behind the hotel. The highlight was definitely the trails at Pointe Verte in Pointe-Saint-Pierre, which wind through a coastal forest and offer a spectacular view of the famous Percé Rock.
