Open since 1945, the Ripplecove Hotel & Spa is an exceptional property that has preserved its historic character while embracing a touch of elegant modernity throughout its enchanting decor. Nestled on the shores of Lake Massawippi, the hotel offers several accommodation options, including classic rooms, villa spaces, and a private chalet.

We had the pleasure of staying in one of their stunning terrace condo suites, featuring a kitchenette with quartz countertops, a gas fireplace, luxurious furnishings, heated floors, and a glass-enclosed balcony overlooking the lake. By choosing one of these 29 suites, you’ll also have access to a fitness room and, best of all, the spacious rooftop terrace equipped with jacuzzis and a beautiful relaxation area.

On the Ripplecove property, you’ll also have access to an outdoor pool, a variety of treatments at the Arboressence Spa, watercrafts like pedal boats, kayaks or paddleboards, and several waterfront relaxation areas. The lounge area in the main building is also worth a visit. You can play a game of chess or simply read a good book by the fire, surrounded by a warm and charming decor. In short, we fell in love with this dreamy hotel, perfect for a romantic getaway! We recommend it without hesitation!

2. Gourmet moment with Huit5Quatre’s Graze Box

For a gourmet happy hour, you can’t go wrong with the Graze Box from Huit5Quatre! Carefully crafted by chef François Lessard, it features a selection of fine charcuterie and exceptional cheeses from Fromagerie Nouvelle France, alongside incredible homemade dips, pickled vegetables, and mouthwatering fruits. A pure delight!

Want to fully experience what Huit5Quatre has to offer? Head to their gorgeous restaurant and enjoy their fixed-price gastronomic tasting menu, where each dish is a surprise inspired by the seasons and local harvests. The bright and welcoming setting makes it perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic evening for two.

3. A Relaxing Day at Spa Manoir Hovey

For a truly rejuvenating day, we highly recommend booking a moment of calm at one of Québec’s most beautiful spas: Spa Manoir Hovey, in North Hatley. With its breathtaking view of Lake Massawippi, the spa’s thermal circuit includes hot baths, a cold plunge, a hammam, a dry sauna, direct access to the lake, an exfoliation ritual, a large year-round heated pool, and several panoramic relaxation rooms! A true haven of peace where everything has been designed to reconnect with nature and slow down.

And if you’re hungry, you can order a delicious meal from the hotel restaurant and enjoy it on a lounge chair by the pool, between reading sessions! To extend your relaxation, a wide range of treatments are also available on-site, including massages, lymphatic drainage, manicures, pedicures, facials, and body wraps. 4. Wine Tasting at Vignoble Sainte-Catherine

Open to the public starting mid-July, the new Vignoble Sainte-Catherine absolutely deserves a spot on your list of wineries to discover this year. On site, you can taste delicious wines and learn more about the amphora winemaking process, a rare technique in Canada that preserves the fruit’s natural aromas for a truly memorable result.

During our visit, we had the chance to taste several wines straight from the amphorae and barrels. We were particularly impressed by the Sainte-Cath, a smooth white wine with pear notes, made from Saint-Pépin grapes. Don’t miss their red wine made from the Marquette grape variety, a perfect choice for your next summer dinners! With its bucolic view of Lake Magog and the surrounding mountains, Vignoble Sainte-Catherine offers an idyllic setting for wine tastings this summer.

5. Gastronomic Dinner at Restaurant Le Riverain

For a magical evening on the shores of Lake Massawippi, it doesn’t get better than the 7-course tasting menu at Restaurant Le Riverain. Highlighting the best seasonal and local ingredients, Chef Vincent Levasseur offers a refined and perfectly balanced culinary experience showcasing the Eastern Townships.

Awarded the prestigious 4 Diamond distinction from the CAA/AAA Guide, one of the highest in North America, Le Riverain impresses with the finesse of its dishes and the excellence of its service. Every plate is a gastronomic experience, combining textures, flavors, and impeccable presentation.

Among our favorites from the summer menu: the Gaspé halibut with foie gras hollandaise, the incredible Magdalen Islands scallop crudo, the lobster trio, and the 21-day aged ribeye, simply unforgettable! With its impeccable service and divine menu from start to finish, this is definitely a restaurant not to be missed during your Memphremagog getaway!

6. Brunch cruise with Escapades Memphrémagog

Come aboard the luxurious catamaran Le Grand Cru for the Anchors Aweigh experience, including a gourmet 3-course brunch and a 3-hour cruise across Lake Memphrémagog! With its hearty menu and stunning views of the surrounding nature, it’s a wonderful idea for a romantic getaway. Cruising on one of Quebec’s most beautiful lakes is without a doubt the perfect way to wrap up your stay in the region, with breathtaking views and a relaxing atmosphere.

Escapades Memphrémagog also offers several other experiences, such as the 90-minute Bubbly Hour (including a welcome cocktail) and Offshore, a 3.5-hour dinner cruise during sunset. We loved it and will definitely be back to try the other gourmet packages this fall!

7. Sweet Treats at Dora Boulangerie Artisanale

During your stay in Memphremagog, we suggest stopping by Eastman to discover the irresistible donuts at Dora Boulangerie Artisanale. Made according to Mrs. Aldora Bolduc’s original recipe for over 75 years, you’ll find a wide variety of donuts, including classic honey-glazed donuts, Boston cream and signature creations like the excellent lemon and meringue donut.

8. Go hiking in Memphrémagog

For outdoor lovers, the Memphremagog area offers several nature activities not to be missed. One of our favorite hiking spots is undoubtedly Mont-Orford National Park. With around 80 km of marked trails, you can find a hike suitable for all skill levels.

For a smooth walk, head to the Marais de la Rivière-aux-Cerises, a protected area just minutes from Magog. With its 6 km network of stilt and gravel trails, you can discover the flora and fauna of this exceptional ecological environment. If you’re more of a water sports fan, you can also take guided kayak tours of the marsh.

Between spectacular landscapes, unforgettable gastronomic experiences, luxurious spas and scenic hikes, the Memphremagog region is the perfect destination to slow down, reconnect and enjoy precious moments together!
